Reporting live from my living room. This shit is crazy. Unprecedented. Absolutely unbelievable. But here we are as a nation, as a global community slowing the heck down. Sort of.
I may not have the same responsibilities that I had, even just last week, but I wouldn’t say I’ve quite slowed down. My heart races, my breath is fast, I’m not sleeping great, I’m drinking a lot of coffee, and cooking and cleaning a lot!
There are tons of posts and conversations talking about how to make the most of this time. Which for a second or two sounds great, but I have not caught up emotionally to any of this. And I wanted to write that down. Because it feels important.
I have had some beautiful moments and some really shitty moments. I’m thinking that’s perfectly normal. This is completely unprecedented, which means no one really knows how to do this.
My sisters and I are all in the same page. One day at a time, and it’s ok to be whereever we are at any given moment.
We have made the call to postpone our next retreat in May. We are ready to plan something ASAP! But now is not the time. For now, we want to just be here, literally. Home with our families and here present with you guys however we can.
We have ideas of how to do that, but we are taking our time. We took Bec’s lead and dove into the book Untamed by Glennon Doyle. Our first discussion will be next Friday, we will post on Instagram and email a link for a zoom call. The book is amazing, Amazon will bring it to your doorstep.
Starting tomorrow morning we are using zoom to have coffee together. 7am, in pjs, no pressure, no “topic”, no agenda. Just a bunch of ladies needing to spend some time together. Please reach out to us if you want to receive our emails, so you can join.
We have two retreaters, who are friends and who are on the frontlines as nurses, Carey and Trudy. I know there are a lot more reading this. We are grateful and we are praying for all of you and your families.
Bottom line, we want to be here. We are ready to navigate all the things with you. We love you guys. Stay tuned.
Love,
Liz
